Information we need
Send the design registration number, current and new owner details where relevant, supporting documents and the applicable deadline.
Record status determines the next action
Before a renewal or assignment is filed, we verify the registration number, proprietor details, renewal window and any earlier recordals that may affect the request. For an assignment, the executed document must identify the parties and transferred designs consistently with the Turkish register. Resolving name or ownership discrepancies first helps prevent avoidable formal objections and an incomplete chain of title.
Clear scope before instruction
We confirm the documents, official requirements and fee proposal before proceeding with the recordal or renewal.
Design renewal periods and assignment documents
Registered designs have an initial five-year term from filing, with five-year renewals up to a maximum of twenty-five years. Renewal is requested and paid within the six months before expiry, or during the six months after expiry with the additional fee.
Send the registration number and individual design numbers, current owner details and the designs to be renewed or transferred. Assignments require an executed, notarised agreement identifying the parties and transferred rights; foreign documents are reviewed for the appropriate translation and formalities.
For a multiple registration, specify which individual designs are affected. Unregistered design protection is not renewed through the registered-design renewal procedure.
